Jabikspaad, Sint Jacobiparochie - Hasselt, 150 km, 6 days
The Jabikspaad is a path through the polders of Friesland and the marshes of Overijssel.
The trail is part of the international network of pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela. This variant begins in Friesland, in the north of the Netherlands. To be more precise, it starts in a village named after the apostle James (Jabik in Frisian) proper: Sint Jacobiparochie.
From Sint Jacobiparochie there is a western and eastern variant. They meet in the town of Jirnsum. Hence it goes to Hasselt in Overijssel.
Several organizations have cooperated to create this path. It is marked by a yellow whelk on a blue background. Note that there is also a trail called Jacobspad, another pilgrimage route, starting in Groningen and joining the Jabikspaad in Hasselt. From Hasselt, the route continues south via the Hanzestedenpad.
