70 miles. 113 km.
In former days, sheep and cattle were taken down high grounds to towns for sale and export. These drove roads can still be found today. The Wayfarer's Walk follows an ancient drove road used by the shepherds driving their sheep to the fairs in the villages. The footpath is situated almost entirely in the Hampshire County, and runs south from the hills to the chalk cliffs on the south England coast. Nowadays the wide hills are grazed by cows or cultivated for corn.
