LAW11, Grenslandpad, Sluis – Thorn, 363 km

The Grenslandpad, or Border Path, is a 363 km long hike in the border area of Belgium and the Netherlands.

The path is maintained by Stichting Wandelnet. Sometimes the path goes through Belgium, but most of the time you will walk in the Netherlands.

The border is not physically present, so you will often be unsure in which country you are. However, you will often encounter white numbered poles marking the 19th century border.

The beginning of the walk is located in Zeeuws Vlaanderen. Zuid Beveland is the next area on your way. It is characterised by polders and fertile clay soils. To the east the country gets poorer and sandier. Heaths and forests alternate intensive livestock areas.

The border region is quiet and rural: this path is for lovers of silence tranquility.
