Viking Way

140 miles. 225 km.

The Viking Way picks up the European Long Distance Way E2 from the point where the Hereward Way ends. From the northern tip of the Viking Way, at the Humber Bridge, the E2 continues along the Yorkshire Wolds Way. The Viking Way winds is way over the open, broad Lincolnshire Wolds, and it is a fairly light walk. The Vikings lived in this area and left traces. And also in prehistoric times people lived on the high grounds and many traces are there. Fields and pasture, little villages and old churches, shape the rural side of the trail.
