Speyside Way

84 miles, 135 km, 7 days

The green land around the River Spey is the setting for the Speyside Way, a Long Distance Route in Scotland. For 6 days you get acquainted with the rich agricultural side of Scotland. The meadows are dotted by the lambs of the Scottish Black Faces, born on the high grounds, to be finished here. You will pass several distilleries of the famous Scotch Whiskey, hence Whiskey Trail.

The path has side-trips into the hills. One branch goes to Tomintoul, the village at 300 meters. Another branch heads for Aviemore, the famous tourist town in the Strathspey Valley. Was this hike too easy? Why not venturing out into the hills? The Cairngorms are nearby.
