Meiringen - Gsteig, Berner Oberland, 8 days

One of the mightiest mountain regions in the Alps is the Berner Oberland, and the Hintere Gasse hike enables the walker to enjoy the spectacular scenery without having to cross glaciers. Of course, it is a busy region in summer. The path is not exactly easy, with some high passes (2600+ m) to conquer requiring a good level of fitness. The trail passes some famous mountains in the 4000 m range: Jungfrau, Eiger and Mönch. The Swiss huts are excellent.
