Verwall Höhenweg, Circular tour (more or less), St.Christoph – Pettneu am Arlberg, 8 days

A hut tour in the Verwall Group, in the west of Austria.

The Verwall is a mountain group in the far west of Austria. Nearby Silvretta and Rätikon are well known and attract most of the hikers. To the North is the popular Lechtal. So, the Verwall is a bit more quiet. The tour is a stiff hike from hut to hut, with a good choise of climbs and descents over the passes and into the valleys. The days count 3 to 7 hours on trail. No glacier crossings are involved, apart from one diversion on day 5 for which you might need crampons.
